My sweet Sassy was such a special little dog. One of the things which
made her so very special was her ability to sense my emotions so
clearly. During the tough times in my life she was a comfort beyond
belief!! It always made me feel happier to have her snuggled down way
under the covers next to me....I do think she was part ground hog!!!
I never woke one morning in which I did not feel her total
unconditional love.
Sassy was unique in that she was a house dog in every sense of the
word. She used a litter box and only went outside to go for walks.
During her latter years she didn't much appreciate a fitness routine
and the walk would only amount to about a block or two before her
little bottom would hit the ground and she would just refuse to go
any further unless carried! She was a female who knew what she
wanted!!
Sassy passed away on January 3, 2002 just one month shy of her
sixteenth birthday. She had spent every day of those almost sixteen
years with me. Sassy was my best friend, closest companion, and pride
and joy for every day! She is still missed so very much! I am,
however, comforted by the fact I know she is waiting and keeping the
other side of the bed warm for me.
