Muttluks Dog Boots

picture 1I had been looking for a descent pair of dog boots since I first adopted Nico. Our winters are cold and long, and I knew we'd need something to protect his tender little feet. I'd looked at all sorts of different products, most were just plain fabric with an elastic band sewn in. Not at all what I was hoping to find. Then, out of the blue, I stumbled upon the Muttluks website (www.muttluks.com). I must say. I was rather intrigued.

Muttluks are made in Canada, so I knew they would have our harsh (and wet) winters in mind when they choose their fabrics. And from the pictures they had on their site picture 2they looked very well constructed. The last nudge came when I saw that they carried their boots in a size small enough for a Chihuahua. I emailed them, and a couple weeks later Nico had two new pairs of boots.

I must admit, I was a little surprised when I realized which pair Nico preferred. Muttluks make both an all-weather boot and a warm winter boot. I had honestly figured Nico would prefer the plain boot as it had more give, was made of softer material, and simply looked more comfortable. *laughing* I couldn't have been more wrong. Although the winter boot is very well made, kept Nico's feet warm, and picture 3looked great, Nico wanted nothing to do with it. He wore them for a couple of photographs then off they came. The all-weather boot was another matter entirely. Nico absolutely loved them. He pranced around, showing off his bright yellow boots (which match his mommies coat). He looked so adorable, and they fit great. I highly recommend these boots to anyone who is worried about their pups tender tootsies.

Something else that impressed me about the Muttluks was the strip of reflective tape on each boot. Being so small, I'm often worried about Nico's visibility. As you can see in the second and third photo (which I intentionally took in low light) this reflective strip is absolutely excellent.

The Muttluks logo says "high quality boots for dogs", and that is exactly what they produce. These are the best dog boots I've ever had the pleasure of trying out. They look great, are made from durable materials, are nice and warm, keep moisture away from your pups feet, make your dog more visible, are comfortable, and... *grins* ...look fabulous. This is one pair of doggy footwear that is definitely Nico Approved!
